Tenderloin residents, merchants, and community members. I am the new Captain of Tenderloin Station. I am honored that I was selected for this assignment.
The foundation of our work at Tenderloin Station is our relationship with the community. Normally, our first contact with community members comes when an issue arises that demands a police response or is brought to us because it is unclear who, or what entity should handle the issue. When Tenderloin Station receives information about an ongoing issue, our management team works together to see what opportunities exist to eliminate or reduce the impact of the problem. Further, we evaluate whether there is a long term strategy that we can design that will sustain improved conditions created by police presence or enforcement.
