SFPD Special Victims Unit Inspectors Arrest Child Pornography Suspect
In early October 2015, a concerned mother went to Bayview Police Station to report that she had discovered that an adult male had been having graphic sexual conversations with her minor daughter, by way of the internet and the child’s cellphone.
The mother discovered that her daughter had been coerced into producing sexually graphic images of herself and sending them to the adult male. She also saw that the adult male had sent sexually graphic images of himself to the child.
As the result of a long investigation conducted by officers from Bayview Police Station and the SFPD Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, the suspect was identified as Antonio Navarro, a twenty-seven year old male San Francisco resident.
On November 9, 2015, investigators from the SFPD ICAC unit and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations placed Navarro into custody in front of his residence on the unit block of Watchman Way in San Francisco. During his arrest Navarro was found to be in possession of graphic images of the child.
Navarro was booked into San Francisco County jail for production of child pornography, possession of child pornography, sending harmful material to a minor, and annoying or molesting a child.
