SFPD Seeks Four Outstanding Robbery Suspects

On October 5, 2016, San Francisco Police responded to the 900 block of Point Lobos Avenue in the Richmond District on a report of a robbery. The victim, a 28 year-old male, appeared shaken and had suffered multiple abrasions to his arms.

The victim indicated he was approached by two suspects, one of whom shoved him to the ground as the second suspect grabbed his camera. The victim struggled to hold onto his camera as the suspect jumped in to a waiting vehicle. A third suspect, the vehicle’s driver, drove away while the victim continued to hold onto his camera, dragging the victim on the asphalt for approximately 10 feet until he let go of his camera. The first suspect was unable to jump in the vehicle in time and was seen running down Point Lobos Avenue until the suspect vehicle slowed down so he could enter. The suspects then fled the scene in a silver Honda Civic with the victim’s property. The victim informed SFPD officers that there were a total of five suspects involved in the incident.

Police obtained surveillance video that helped investigators identify and locate the suspect vehicle used in the crime. One suspect has been arrested and investigators are still searching for others who participated in this criminal act. Taken into custody was Jacobo Padilla, a 19 year-old Hispanic male and San Francisco resident. He was booked into San Francisco County Jail on charges of robbery, conspiracy, and committing a felony while out on bail.

San Francisco Police are asking anyone with information as to the whereabouts and/or identities of these suspects to contact the SFPD Anonymous Tip Line at (415) 575-4444 or Text A Tip to TIP411 and include “SFPD” at the beginning of the message.
