SFPD Make Arrest in 2015 Quadruple Homicide
On January 9, 2015 San Francisco Police officers responded to a shooting at Laguna and Page Streets in the Hayes Valley neighborhood in San Francisco. At the scene, officers located Manuel O’Neal, David Saucier II, Harith Atchan, and Yalani Chinyamurindi inside a vehicle; each was shot multiple times. Officers summoned an ambulance and rendered aid, but unfortunately, all four victims succumbed to their injuries. For more than a year, investigators have been following leads and gathering evidence to identify the perpetrator(s) and bring justice to the families of the victims.
SFPD Homicide Investigators - with the assistance of Northern Police Station’s Street Crimes and Housing Units, Gang Task Force, Fugitive Extradition Unit, Forensic Services Firearms Unit, Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Special Investigations Division and other local and Federal partner agencies - developed probable cause to arrest Lee Farley, 27, of San Francisco. On July 29, 2016, at approximately 0900 AM Lee Farley was taken into custody without incident at the U.S. Prison at Atwater, California where he was in custody on an unrelated charge. He was later booked into San Francisco County Jail on four counts of murder (187 PC-Felony), four counts of shooting at an inhabited vehicle (246 PC-Felony), one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted narcotics offender, (29800 (a) (1) PC-Felony) and one count of participation in a criminal street gang (186.22 (a) PC-Felony). Due to pending identification matters, a booking photo will not be released at this time.
“I was the Officer in Charge of the Homicide Detail at the time of this homicide and later promoted to Commander of Investigations. I promised the victims’ families that the San Francisco Police Department would do everything we could to solve this brutal crime,” said Acting Chief of Police Toney Chaplin. “I have been updated regularly by the Homicide Detail and I am happy to announce that the Department has arrested a suspect and begun the process of bringing justice and healing to the victims’ families.”
