SFPD Arrests Shooting Suspect 24-151
On Friday, November 29, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., SFPD officers assigned to Northern Station responded to the 1200 block of Pierce Street regarding a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid and medics arrived on scene who transported the victim to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene eastbound Eddy Street towards Fillmore Street.
On Saturday, November 30, 2024, SPFD investigators from the Special Victims Unit (SVU) were able to identify the suspect as 26-year-old male, Marshawn Peters. SVU investigators developed probable to cause to obtain an arrest warrant for the shooting. Investigators issued a crime bulletin for officers to be on the lookout for the suspect and to alert them of the arrest warrant.
On November 30, 2024, the SFPD Citywide plainclothes teams who were conducting a robbery/auto burglary abatement operation throughout San Francisco were in coordination with the SFPD Real Time Investigations Center (RTIC). During the operation the plainclothes officers located the suspect travelling in a vehicle in San Francisco and began surveillance.
The plainclothes officers conducted surveillance on the vehicle over several hours which led them to numerous neighboring cities in the Bay Area. At approximately 9:15 p.m. plainclothes officers followed the suspect to San Leandro, California, where Peters exited the vehicle on the 1100 block of Davis Street and officers placed him into custody without incident.
Peters was transported to San Francisco County Jail where he was booked for the arrest warrant for the charges of attempted homicide (664/187(A)(1) PC), carrying a concealed firearm upon the person (25400(A)(2)(1) PC), and brandishing a firearm (417.5 PC).
