SFPD Arrests Homicide Suspect 23-005(b)

On January 12, 2023, the San Francisco Police Department issued a news release asking for the public’s assistance in locating missing adult Maxwell George Maltzman who was last seen at his residence on the 900 block of Sutter Street in San Francisco on Friday, January 6, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m. 

On January 23, 2023, Maltzman was located deceased in San Francisco’s Bayview District.

The San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail began an investigation into the death of Maltzman. The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner also conducted an investigation. The investigations determined that the death of Maxwell George Maltzman was a homicide. 

Through the course of the investigation SFPD Homicide Detail investigators obtained evidence to determine the identity of the homicide suspect. Homicide Detail investigators developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect and a search warrant for the suspect’s residence.

On November 29, 2024, at approximately 8:22 a.m. the SFPD Tactical Unit and the SFPD Homicide Detail located and arrested the suspect on the unit block of Ahern Way. Investigators served the search warrant on the suspect’s residence and located evidence that was seized. 

The suspect identified as 19-year-old male from San Francisco was transported to the Juvenile Justice Center where he was booked on charges of Homicide (187(a) PC) and Conspiracy (182(a)(1) PC).
