SFPD Arrest Bank Robbery Suspect from Mission District

San Francisco Police officers arrested a wanted bank robbery suspect. Taken into custody was Fernando Sylvestry, 53 of San Francisco.

On February 17, 2014 at approximately 3:30PM, San Francisco Police responded to a bank robbery that occurred on the 2500 block of Mission Street.

In this incident, Sylvestry walked into a bank and handed the teller a demand note. The teller handed over money and Sylvestry fled the scene on foot.

Investigators were able to provide images of Sylvestry from the bank surveillance video to officers.

On February 18th, officers from the Mission District recognized Sylvestry, who was walking on the 2200 block of Mission Street at around 2:00PM. Sylvestry was arrested without incident and booked into County Jail on burglary, robbery and narcotics violations.
