SFPD Academy Class 239th Graduation August 15th

The San Francisco Police Department will be holding a graduation ceremony for the 239th Academy Class on Friday, August 15th, at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, 2850-19th Avenue at Sloat Blvd. at 6:00 P.M. There are 34 recruits graduating from the class.

In this class there are the following degrees; 1 has a Juris Doctor degree, 26 have Bachelor’s degrees, 1 has an Associates degree and 4 have prior military service. Out of the 34 recruits there are 5 female recruits and the remaining are males.

Several of the recruits are bilingual. The languages spoken are: Gujarati, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Chiu-Chau, Toisan and Cantonese.

The 239th Academy Class has completed 31 weeks of training. Following the graduation, the newly sworn officers will begin a 16-week field-training program at the Department’s district stations.
