SFPD 241st Class Graduates

The San Francisco Police Department’s 241st class graduates Friday, January 2, 2015 at 6pm at the Scottish Rite Masonic Auditorium located at 2850 19th Avenue.

There are 45 men and women who joining the ranks of the SFPD. These officers are proud to serve our world class city. There are 6 who served our nation’s armed forces, 1 EMT, Paramedic and an Attorney. In this class the following languages are spoken; Spanish, French, German, Farsi, Japanese, Arabic, Korean, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Laotian and Thai. This class holds 1 Juris Doctorate, 2 Master Degrees, 9 Bachelor Degrees and 1 Associate Degree.

These officers will start their field training at one of several training districts beginning Saturday.

“With 45 men and women from diverse backgrounds, many bilingual, and from different points in their career joining the San Francisco Police Department, these proud newly sworn officers will hit our streets to keep San Francisco one of the safest big cities in our country,” said Mayor Ed Lee. “The men and women of the San Francisco Police Department have dedicated their lives to protecting and serving the people of San Francisco. The Police Department under the leadership of Chief Greg Suhr has brought our City’s violent crime rate to historic lows and implemented innovative crime prevention and community policing strategies to make neighborhoods safer. And it will be my challenge, and my commitment, to make sure that our City’s first responders stay and live in San Francisco by building housing that is affordable to our workforce and working families. Congratulations to the 241st Academy Class. You are our City’s heroes.”
