What is Phishing?

Phishing is a "social engineering" tactic used by scammers and hackers. They trick you into sharing your private information or passwords to steal your accounts.

Watch Out For...

  • Too good to be true’s
  • Urgent emails and messages
  • Emails and messages with errors or suspicious email addresses

Example of a Phishing Attempt:

Dear friend,
I have a very good opportunity for you today. Please call me at (415) 666-5444 before it’s 2 late.

Does this seem like a friend to you? Steer clear of suspicious emails. If you think it’s someone you know, reach them at a known number or email.
